Marlize van Romburgh

I’m a Journalism and Economics undergrad at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Originally from South Africa, I’ve made a habit of living and traveling abroad, although California is managing to steal my heart and squander my wanderlust. I soak up the sun as much as I can; horseback riding, tennis, running, biking, hiking and surfing are made all the better when set to the backdrop of the beautiful Central Coast.

I’m a Libertarian, believe in laissez-faire capitalism, limited government, and the power of personal liberties. I recently became a naturalized United States citizen, and it is without a doubt my proudest life accomplishment. I will, however, likely waste my newfound right to vote and write Ron Paul in on the ticket come November.

This blog - a Clearer Perspective - is my forum for reasoned, well-thought out views on current events, politics, economics and philosophy. As the name suggests, I truly hope it serves a forum for rational, informed thought, and that it continues to uphold the characteristics of good writing and journalism, even in the fast-paced age of new media.
